Major flight disruption which has left many holidaymakers stranded overseas was caused by a problem with inbound data, air traffic control bosses in the UK said.

The technical issues cause travel chaos for passengers in Irish airports with hundreds of flights being cancelled. Again on Tuesday a host of flights in and out of Irish airports saw delays. This morning however, disruption was said to be minimal.
