Hong Kong will update an app it uses for Covid-19 tracking to bring it more in line with mainland China, by requiring people to register by name and by adopting a traffic light colour code to restrict movement of infected residents and close contacts.
Previously, users were not required to register with their personal details, and the app was used to enter venues and display vaccination records.
