Sudan’s prime minister and other officials detained in apparent military coup

Military forces have arrested Sudan’s acting prime minister Abdalla Hamdok and other senior government figures, disrupted internet access and blocked bridges in the capital Khartoum in an apparent coup, officials said.

In response, thousands of people flooded the streets of Khartoum and its twin city of Omdurman to protest the apparent military takeover.
