At least three people were dead when an Amtrak train operating between Seattle and Chicago derailed in north-central Montana.

Dispatcher Starr Tyler, an official with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, told the Associated Press the number of deaths, but she was unable to provide more details. Amtrak said in a statement that there were multiple injuries.
