Japan’s PM marks end of war but does not apologise for country’s aggression
Japan marked the 76th anniversary of its Second World War surrender on Sunday with a sombre ceremony in which Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga pledged for the tragedy of war to never be repeated but avoided apologising for his country’s aggression.
Suga said Japan never forgets that the peace the country enjoys today is built on the sacrifices of those who died in the war.
