The parents of a Belarusian dissident journalist arrested after a passenger jet was diverted to land in Minsk have said they are worried about their and his girlfriend's welfare and issued an emotional plea for help.

“World, please stand up and help. I urge you very much because they will kill him, they will kill him,” Natalia Pratasevich said through tears during an interview in Poland.
