20 killed in Gaza as Israel responds to Hamas rocket barrage

Twenty people including nine children have been killed in the Gaza Strip amid clashes with Israel, according to Palestinian health officials.

The death toll made it one of the bloodiest days of fighting in several years, after Hamas militants fired dozens of rockets into Israel, including a barrage that set off air raid sirens as far away as Jerusalem.
