Villagers have the perfect view of efforts to free stricken container ship

The sleepy farming village of Amer overlooking the Suez Canal has found itself in the world’s spotlight following a visit from a vessel which has somewhat overstayed its welcome.

Last week, the village was suddenly thrust into the limelight after a massive container ship, the Ever Given, got stuck nearby.
