Blood-thinning drugs could cut death risk in Covid-19 hospital patients
The majority (93%) of those involved in the study were men and the average age was 68.
Covid-19 patients given drugs to prevent blood clotting within 24 hours of being admitted to hospital are less likely to die, research suggests.
Scientists said their findings, based on a study of more than 4,000 people, provide "strong real world evidence" to support guidelines recommending giving blood thinners as a preventative measure.
