UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said ‘We are not proposing at this stage to make it mandatory’ (Justin Tallis/PA)

The UK Health Secretary refused to rule out making it compulsory to take a coronavirus vaccine if one becomes available.

Matt Hancock’s comments came as US firm Moderna said its jab may be 94.5% effective against the illness.
