Boris Johnson in telephone talks with his Cabinet as new Covid regulations loom

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is holding a telephone conference with hid Cabinet members today as he prepares to bring in a new three-tier coronavirus restrictions regime.

Mr Johnson’s decision to brief Cabinet ministers on a Sunday is a rare move and comes as Northern leaders have expressed anger at the economic impact of further Covid rules in their areas as talks with the Government appeared tense.
