240-million-year-old reptile with giraffe-like neck ‘lived in ocean’
Tanystropheus, whose neck was three times as long as its torso

An ancient reptile which stands out because of its long, giraffe-like neck may have lived in the ocean, and not on land, scientists have said.

The findings, published in the journal Current Biology, are based on a digital reconstruction of the crushed skull of Tanystropheus, which lived more than 240 million years ago.
