Beirut surveys devastation after dozens die in massive explosion
Residents of Beirut awoke to a scene of devastation on Wednesday, a day after a massive explosion at the city’s port sent shock waves across the Lebanese capital, killing dozens of people and wounding thousands.
Smoke was still rising from the port, where a towering grain silo was shattered. Major downtown streets were littered with debris and damaged vehicles, and building facades were blown out.
