Hundreds of Muslims are to take part in prayers at Istanbul’s landmark Hagia Sophia after its controversial reconversion into a mosque.

The Friday prayers are the first in 86 years at the structure that once was one of Christendom’s most significant cathedrals, before becoming a mosque and then a museum.
