Baby among 12 dead in worst fire tragedy in New York for two decades

At least 12 people, including a one-year-old baby, have died after a fire broke out in an apartment block in the Bronx area of New York.

The deadliest residential fire to hit New York City in at least 25 years has killed 12 people and left four more fighting for their lives, officials said.

The blaze swept through a Bronx apartment building on Thursday evening, leaving a child around one year old among the dead, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
