Rahul Gandhi set to become president of India's Congress Party

Rahul Gandhi, a member of India's Nehru-Gandhi political dynasty, has submitted nomination papers to succeed his mother as president of the main opposition Congress party.

Without a serious rival for the top party post, Mr Gandhi is likely to be elected on December 16.
