A 5.3 magnitude earthquake has hit southern Turkey.

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake has hit southern Turkey.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) says it hit 14 kilometres south-east of Bodrum, a popular tourist resort.

The tremor hit just before 8am this morning at a depth of 10 kilometres.

There are no reports as yet of any injuries or damage.
