Ex-Thai leaders cleared of abusing power in quelling protest

Two former Thai leaders have been acquitted of abusing their power in a case involving the quelling of an anti-government protest in 2008.
A court in Bangkok cleared Somchai Wongsawat, his then-deputy Chavalit Yongchaiyudh and two ex-police officials on Wednesday, with a judge saying the court could not conclude that the injuries protesters suffered were from police weapons and grenades.
