Boy who died trying to save friend from river hailed as 'a hero'

A 12-year-old boy who went missing in the River Trent after he tried to help a struggling friend has been described as a "hero".

Nottinghamshire Police said specialist boat rescue crews were called to a stretch of the river near Beeston Marina at around 6pm on Monday.
