Gunman who shot US politician volunteered on Sanders presidential campaign

Update 6:23pm: Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders has said the gunman who shot Republican politician Steve Scalise had apparently volunteered on his presidential campaign.

Mr Sanders said in a statement, "I am sickened by this despicable act."
