Libya asks EU for boats and helicopters to patrol coast

Libya is asking the European Union for boats and helicopters to help patrol the Mediterranean Sea for ships carrying migrants.

The German government said a "request list" from Libya's coastguard also includes ambulances, communications equipment and night vision gear.
