Judge blocks Donald Trump order to hold back 'sanctuary city' funding

A federal judge has blocked any attempt by the Trump administration to withhold funding from "sanctuary cities" that do not cooperate with US immigration officials.

US District Judge William Orrick said the president has no authority to attach new conditions to federal spending.
