Fatal avalanche in French Alps in ski resort of Tignes

At least four people have died following an avalanche in the French Alps.

It happened at the ski resort of Tignes close to the Italian border.

Five survivors are in the process of being freed from the snow near the resort of Tignes (pron: Teen).

The group of nine were skiing with a professional when the snowslide hit an off-piste slope this morning.
