German airline Lufthansa and a union representing its pilots have agreed to bring in an arbitrator in the hope of reaching a new wage settlement by the end of January.

German airline Lufthansa and a union representing its pilots have agreed to bring in an arbitrator in the hope of reaching a new wage settlement by the end of January.

Lufthansa and the Cockpit union said in statements on Friday that they agreed the day before "to request arbitration in order to achieve a lasting solution".
