Alain Juppe concedes defeat in French conservative presidential primary

Alain Juppe has conceded defeat in France's first-ever conservative presidential primary, congratulating rival Francois Fillon for a "wide victory".
Mr Juppe, a former prime minister who had long been considered the favourite for the primary, made the concession announcement after results from Sunday's run-off election showed he gained 32% of the vote compared to Mr Fillon's 68%.
