Pregnant woman rescued from car after vehicle slips from harbour wall

A pregnant driver has been rescued after she reversed her car off a harbour wall in the UK.

Emergency crews were called to Military Road, Ramsgate, just before 6.30pm, after the woman drove her vehicle off the seafront, Kent Fire and Rescue Service said.

The woman - who is pregnant - was trapped inside the car, which was wedged between the jetty and a pontoon.

Fire crews secured the vehicle using a winch, which allowed them to get to the woman and remove her to safety.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they would use a crane to lift the vehicle back onto the jetty.
