Iraqi forces enter outskirts of Mosul and evacuate residents to camp

Iraqi special forces have entered the outskirts of Mosul, taking the state television building and advancing despite fierce resistance by Islamic State (IS) fighters who hold the city.

The advance marks the first time Iraqi troops have set foot in the city, Iraq's second largest, in more than two years.
