Two people have been killed in an explosion at a German factory housing flammable liquids and liquefied gas.

Chemical firm BASF's spokeswoman Silvie-Kristin Wemperb said six people were seriously injured in the blast in the south-western town of Ludwigshafen, and two others remain missing.
