Yahoo 'gave US intelligence agencies email access'

Yahoo has reportedly scanned hundreds of millions of email accounts at the behest of US intelligence or law enforcement.

The scans, reported by Reuters, allegedly selected incoming messages that contained a string of unknown characters.
