A seven-year-old girl is giving a child's view of the Syrian conflict which has killed some of her friends and left her trapped with her family in Aleppo.

Bana al-Abed, who buries herself in her book to try and forget the bombs raining down all around her in Syria, has tweeted about the conflict from her family home in Syria.

Bana has aspirations to become a teacher, and her tweets are teaching people around the world about the horror of the war that is tearing the country apart.

She is among thousands trapped inside rebel-held Aleppo which Syrian government troops and Russia are bombing every day.

The bombings have left her fearing for her life.

She also fears for her two younger brothers.

Her 26-year-old mother Fatemah helps her to document the daily destruction, sometimes of hospitals, in an effort to alert the international community.

She has posted images of the ruins of a house where her friend died in an attack.

As well as video describing how a bomb hit the side of her own home.

Her tweets have gone viral, but all she wants is peace.
