Charlotte sees fourth night of protests following police shooting

Demonstrators have staged a peaceful protest in North Carolina hours after the family of a black man shot by US police released video footage showing the events leading up to his death.

The march through Charlotte's business district marked the fourth night of demonstrations over the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott in the city earlier in the week.

After darkness fell, dozens of people took to the streets to urge police to release dashboard and body camera video which could show what happened more clearly.

Police have said Mr Scott was armed, but witnesses claim he only held a book.

The group, which appeared smaller than on previous nights, carried a banner which read: "Just Release the Tapes".
