Swiss train attacker dies of his injuries
A man who attacked passengers aboard a train in Switzerland with a knife and burning liquid, killing one and wounding five others, has died of his injuries, police said.
St Gallen state police said the suspect, described only as a 27-year-old Swiss man from a neighbouring state, had been suffering from serious burns.
He died in a hospital today, they said in a statement.
A 34-year-old woman earlier died of her wounds in a hospital, while three others remain in a critical condition.
Police have not yet been able to establish a motive but said there is no indication the suspect had ties to extremist groups.
They searched his home after the attack, which occurred on Saturday afternoon as the train neared the station in Salez, close to the Liechtenstein border.
