Drunk driver who fell asleep at wheel with gun in lap pleads guilty in UK

A drunk driver who fell asleep in slow moving traffic with a loaded gun on his lap has pleaded guilty to firearms offences.
Nathan Gardier, who police said was intoxicated, woke up as two police officers removed the automatic handgun from his car in Willow Walk, east London, during the incident last week.
The 24-year-old, of Falmer Road, pleaded guilty at Thames Magistrates' Court on Friday after being charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, and being in charge of a motor vehicle with alcohol level above the prescribed limit.
Gardier will appear for sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday August 16.
