Two Hong Kong tourists remain in a critical condition in hospital three days after they were attacked by a teenage Afghan refugee wielding an axe and a knife on a German commuter train.

The patients - identified by German news agency dpa as a 62-year-old man and his daughter's 30-year-old boyfriend - were among five people injured in the attack in Wuerzburg, southern Germany, on Monday night.
