US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has appeared to raise questions about his likely rival Hillary Clinton's religious faith at a closed-door meeting with evangelical leaders.

In video footage, the presumptive Republican nominee appears to suggest the public does not know "anything about Hillary in terms of religion".
