Thousands sign petition for pensioner who tried to save Jo Cox to be honoured for his bravery

In the UK more than 27,000 people have now signed a petition calling for a pensioner who tried to save murdered MP Jo Cox to be officially honoured for his bravery.

77-year-old Bernard Kenny was stabbed in the stomach as he came to her aid when she was attacked in Birstall in West Yorkshire last week.

He is now out of hospital.
