Father of radical who shot dead 49 people says the venue should have had better security

The father of a man who shot dead 49 people in Orlando has said the nightclub where the attack took place should share responsibility for the massacre.

Seddique Mateen has said it could have been prevented if the venue had better security.

During Omar Mateen's attack he called 911 to explain he had pledged allegiance to Islamic State.

His dad says he didn't notice his son was radicalised: “Based on what I know the definition of radicalised, he should have had a big beard, long coat and just attend what he likes to attend.

“But he was working and he was taking care of his family.”
