Man charged with attempted murder over hammer attack on 17-year-old girl
A man is to appear in court in England charged with attempted murder over a brutal hammer attack that left a 17-year-old girl with life-changing injuries.
James Hemming, 28, attacked the girl, who has not been named, at a property in Shearer Road, Portsmouth, it is alleged.
The victim suffered serious head injuries in the attack on April 11, police said.
Hemming, of Cross Street, Portsmouth, will appear in custody at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Hampshire Police earlier said the attack took place at a property with possible links to the sex trade, and gave advice on personal safety to sex workers via charities and support groups after it happened.
