Tour guide detained following death of three British tourists
An unauthorised tour guide has been detained in Vietnam after three British people died while climbing a waterfall.
25-year-old Christian Sloan and two woman, aged 19 and 25, were found near the Datanla Falls in the Lam Dong province.
Reporter Tom Rayner has said a statement from a company that runs access to that particular waterfall said they were with an unofficial guide: “Who had taken them to access the waterfall from halfway up which is apparently, according to the company an unusual starting point.
“The company has also said that they do not believe that the group was using the safety equipment that would normally be used.”
