UN declares Somalia a recovering nation, not a failed state

The top UN official for war-torn Somalia has said the country is no longer a failed state but is now a recovering fragile nation.

Nicholas Kay, the outgoing representative for the UN secretary general in Somalia, said the country has stabilised in the last three years – but there is still a lot of work to do.
