Vladimir Putin claims tensions with Turkey cannot be healed

Vladimir Putin has claimed Turkey acted contrary to its own interests by downing a Russian warplane.

Speaking at his annual televised news conference, the Russian president said he sees no possibility of overcoming the diplomatic strain under the current Turkish leadership.
