Angela Merkel has been named Time's Person of the Year
Time Magazine has named German Chancellor Angela Merkel as its Person of the Year.
Others on the shortlist included Donald Trump, Black Lives Matter and Caitlyn Jenner.
In reaching its decision, Time has said Merkel has emerged as "indispensable" in managing Europe's debt crisis.
It said she has also led the West's response to Vladimir Putin and Ukraine.
The magazine also said she has stepped in each time - relating to the migrant crisis and the Paris attacks.
