Turkish military 'shoots down warplane' at Syrian border

Turkish jets have shot down a warplane that violated national airspace at the border with Syria, according to reports in the country.

The Dogan news agency, quoting unnamed military officials, said the plane was shot down and crashed into Syrian territory close to the border with Turkey.
