UN Security Council vote to redouble efforts against so-called Islamic State
The United Nations Security Council has unanimously backed a call to redouble action against the so-called Islamic State group following the Paris terror attacks.
Russia also voted for the measures to be taken.
It calls for co-ordinated efforts to prevent further atrocities, but it doesn't provide any legal basis for military action.
Francois Delattre is the French Ambassador to the UN: “Security council has taken a crucial step forward,
“A crucial step towards bringing the International community together, in the fight against Daesh, in Syria and in Iraq."
