Ebola has been eliminated in Sierra Leone.

It has now been 42 days since the last patient with the virus was discharged from hospital.

It will be under a heightened state of surveillance over the next three months to ensure the virus is gone for good.

These medical workers in Sierra Leone could not be more pleased and are praying that no more disease enters Sierra Leone.

Nearly 4,000 people died from the virus in Sierra Leone in the midst of the crisisbut more than 11,000 people died in West Africa since December 2013.
