Boy, nine, dies after being hit by car in Scotland

A nine-year-old boy has been knocked down and killed on a busy road.
He was hit by a blue Ford C Max on the A90 – the main road between Perth and Dundee – near Longforgan, Perth and Kinross, at about 9.20pm yesterday.
Police said no other cars were involved and the road was closed while officers investigated the scene of the collision.
A force spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a nine-year-old boy has sadly died following a collision on the A90 at Longforgan.
“The collision happened at around 9.20pm on Friday and involved a blue Ford C Max and the boy, who was a pedestrian. No other vehicles were involved and no-one else has been injured.
