US fighter jet crashes in Suffolk

A US F-18 fighter jet has crashed in England.
It came down close to RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk at around 10.45am this morning.
It is reported that the crash was five miles from the airfield and it was one of six planes returning from combat missions in the Middle East.
Sky's defence correspondent Alistair Bunkall has said there are not many details.
“There are reports on Twitter that the pilot, it would have been a single seated plane I believe, the pilot ejected but his condition is unknown," Mr Bunkall said.
"Someone has told me that they think the plane came down in a field.”
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said they were called just after 10.30am.
He said: “We were called following reports of an aircraft crash at Redmere.
“We have two crews at the scene at the moment but there is no sign of any firefighting action taking place.”
