Acclaimed Egyptian novelist Gamel el-Ghitani dies at 70

Gamal el-Ghitani, one of Egypt’s most acclaimed novelists, has died at the age of 70.

He died early on Sunday of respiratory complications at a military hospital in Cairo, Egypt’s state-run news agency MENA said.
