Ukraine to sit alongside Russia on UN Security Council

Ukraine has won a seat on the UN Security Council, giving the country a new platform to spar diplomatically with permanent member Russia.

Four other countries, Egypt, Japan, Senegal and Uruguay, were also elected to the council.
