82-year-old sailor rescued from the North Sea

An 82-year-old sailor has been rescued from the North Sea, following a long operation by the UK and Norwegian coastguard.

Bad weather had been hampering the rescue of Julian Mustoe, whose yacht started drifting towards a gas platform last night.

Earlier, he refused to be airlifted by a helicopter because he did not want to abandon his boat.

He is now being taken to Bergen with his yacht in tow.
